Learn Studio

Free resources to get you started — or go deeper on Session View, Arrangement, MIDI, stems, and the Studio agent. Inspired by how Ableton structures Learn Live: start making music, then specialize.

Getting started

From download to first session

Four steps to your first ideas in Rewire Studio.

  1. 01

    Download Desktop

Install Rewire Desktop for Mac or Windows. Studio opens as the DAW — no waitlist required to start arranging.

  2. 02

    Start a session

Add tracks, drop samples from the Library, or sketch clips in Session View. Launch a scene to hear combinations instantly.

  3. 03

    Shape MIDI and mix

Open the piano roll, edit notes, ride the mixer rail. Ask the Studio agent for a bass or pad pass when you’re stuck.

  4. 04

    Commit to Arrangement

Move winning ideas onto the timeline, record takes, separate stems, stack devices, and export when you’re ready.

Feature guides

Go deeper

Each guide mirrors how Live users learn Session, Arrangement, and sound design — focused on what Studio ships today.

  • Session View

Tracks as columns, scenes as rows — launch ideas without a timeline.

  • Arrangement View

Linear timeline for structure, loops, and finishing.

  • MIDI & piano roll

Draw, slice, scale, velocity — and agent compose.

  • Mixer

Levels and sends where the clips are.

  • Stems

Separate sources, rework layers, send back.

  • Studio agent

Local AI for clips and MIDI — not plugin code.

  • Devices

Host Rewire + VST3 inserts on every track.

  • Editor

When you need a plugin that doesn’t exist yet.

Community

Learn with others

Ableton has User Groups and Certified Trainers. Rewire’s early community lives on Discord — ask questions, share sessions, follow along as Studio evolves.
